What Happens When a Pastor Ignores Christ?

by Brian Yamabe on April 2, 2009

The secular elites have this famous conference called, TED. There are some really fascinating talks about ideas and technology, but it does have a fairly anti-Christian bent. Evolution is king, Richard Dawkins is a hero, and the most orthodox Christian to ever speak there is probably Rick Warren. Today I found this talk by an Anglican pastor.

This poor pastor tries to explain how God could have allowed the tsunamis in 2004 without once mentioning Christ. He comes to the conclusion that either God is almighty and caused it or God is not almighty and couldn’t control it. And since a god that could cause such a catastrophe isn’t worthy of worship, then God must not be almighty. He comes to the conclusion that the way to view god is that it is a spirit of the universe in all of us.
The talk wasn’t a total loss. I did learn the meaning of the word “namaste” which loosely means, “that which is of god in me, greets that which is of god in you.” Won’t be using that greeting anytime soon.
